Sunday Morning Family Bible Study

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church offers a Family Bible Study class that meets every Sunday morning.  This informal class meets in the church basement before service from 9:00-9:45 a.m. September - May, and after service from 10:15-10:45 a.m. June - August.  This Bible study is led by our pastor.  We learn about a wide variety of relevant topics that are taught within a scriptural context.  Coffee and hot chocolate are provided.  There is no need to register or sign up for this class, and you may attend just one class or as many as you'd like.  Don't worry - there are no exams!  All are welcome.  Please join us on Sundays and share in this rewarding spiritual growth opportunity.

Current Topic:

A Bible Class on Christian Decision Making

Starting November 5

9:00 AM

Every day you make dozens of decisions.  Some are small, like what to make for dinner.  Some are huge and may affect many people.  Is it time to put mom into assisted living?  Should I take that job?  Should I take chemotherapy?

We have to weigh a lot of things when making these decisions:  finances, the effect on my family, time, stress.  But do we ask the Lord for his advice?

This Bible class will help us seek whatever guidance the Lord gives us in the Bible so we don’t just make a decision, but a Christian decision.

Lesson Plan:

1.  What shall I do?

2.  Is there an absolute right or wrong?

3.  When it is wrong to do what is right.

4.  I would like to know the future.

5.  God’s Word helps us to make decisions

6.  Be willing to follow where God leads.

7.  Don’t fear when unclear.

8.  Freedom, not a blueprint.
